JESUS AND THE MOUNTAINS
One beautiful pattern in the Gospels is that Jesus often ministered on mountains.
Jesus went to mountains to
- Pray alone (Matthew 14:23; Luke 6:12)
- Teach the crowds (Matthew 5-7)
- Reveal His glory (Matthew 17)
- Feed the five thousand (John 6:3)
- Give the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20)
- Ascend back to heaven from the Mount of Olives (Acts 1:9-12)
- Mountains became places where heaven met earth through Jesus.
TEN IMPORTANT MOUNTAINS IN THE BIBLE
1. MOUNT ARARAT
Genesis 8:4
Main Event
Noah's Ark came to rest after the Flood.
Significance
- End of God's judgment
- Beginning of a new creation
- God established His covenant with Noah

2. MOUNT MORIAH
Genesis 22:1-14 2 Chronicles 3:1 Main Events Abraham offered Isaac. God provided a ram instead. Later, Solomon built the Temple on this mountain.

1 Kings 18
Main Event
- Elijah challenged the 450 prophets of Baal.

Deuteronomy 34:1-5
Main Event
- Moses viewed the Promised Land.
- Moses died there before Israel entered Canaan.
